Greetings.
We've got a number of mpp's saved from project 2003, and as we're in the
process of migrating everyone to project server 2007 we'd like to bring those
projects online. The Import Wizard is causing us problems with resource
mapping (yes, after we've installed the hotfix). We've thought up two
possibilities:
1) Open the 2003 mpp in Project 2007 (offline). Save the project in the
format of 2007 files. Open project professional connected to the server and
use the Save As function to save the project to the server.
2) Upload the project to our old (still in use, migration not being
finished) project server 2003, and then use the Migration Tool to bring it
over along with the standard migration.
So far we've tested the former method, and initial testing indicates high
fidelity to the source.
Are there any issues that we've not come across yet which could hamper us in
the future while using either of these methods?
