importing a field from another table in access?

I want to create a LName (Last Name) field that contains all PRE-INPUTTED
data into another table without having to re-type the information. I thought
taht using the expression builder to creat the expression linking the two
tables and fields together and setting them equal to each other would work
but I am unable to remember how to use the correct language to do this
function. Is this the correct method for accomplishing this or is there
another way of doing this?

Why would you want the data in two tables? Just build a relationship
between the tables. You should never store identical data in more than one
table in a database. What if a name changes, you want your users to
remember to update both places?
