Importing a Word document

Why is it that when I import a Word document, it opens into a new publication
rather than the publication page that I just created? That means I have to
re-do the page size, margins, etc. What am I doing wrong?

Instead of using the Import feature, click inside an existing Publisher text
box and choose Insert: Text File from the Menu Bar.
