Importing ACT to it's own contacts folder

I'm trying to import an ACT database and all is going well until I get to "Change Destination" - I created another contact folder with it's own name and everytime I select this folder the ok button greys out. Oddly enough, if I select the normal contact folder it also greys out. Please help -- I don't want to merge this database with my existing Contacts
