Importing an Excel Spreadsheet

I am trying to import an excel spread sheet into Access
2002 and keep getting the following error.....

Microsoft Access has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience......

Anyone know why i keep getting this error. I am working
from a network and someone else was able to do it from
their PC but I can't do it from mine.

any tips would be great
