Importing an Excel Spreasheet

I know this should be in th eimport/Export Data newsgroup
but I cannot access that at the current time.

When trying to import an excel spreadsheet I am getting
an error message that their is no control. If I do the
same thing by using code I can import the spreadsheet,
does anyone have any ideas
