importing and get error

hi, i am a help desk worker.
i have a user who is trying to import some files into an application we use
but when he does this he gets "record too large" there are about 5-6 files he
is trying to import and they range in size form 6MB to 28 MB. it dosent say
what one is too large, or by how much or anything.
I dont know much about access at all apart form how to install it ect but
need to get a fix for this user is possible.
can anyone tell me why he woudl be getting this error? is there a solution?
and how can you stop it in future if possible.

I would suggest doing the checking in bite size pices. First try importing
the files one at a time to see where the problem arises - starting with the
smallest.
