Importing and opening Pocket Excel files

Chad

I have been unable to open pocket excel files in Excel 2004. Does
anyone know how to set up excel 2004 to read pocket excel files? I
have tried renaming them, but that hasn't worked. Thanks in advance
for any help.

Hi Chad,

What file format are pocket excel files? If they are .xls they should
open right up in all versions of Excel beginning with 97.

Jim,

They are .pxl files. I am sending them to the powerbook via bluetooth
and there doesn't seem to be any problem seeing the file on the
powerbook, just opening them. When I try and open the file from the
documents folder, Panther asks me to choose a program to open the
file. In some applications, it opens but the resulting image is all
characters and doesn't even slightly resemble my file, or the file
won't open. I should add that these files are password protected.
Thanks for any information you may have!

Hi,

AFAIK Mac Excel can not open .pxl files.

Please take a moment to let the Mac Business Unit know that you would like
Excel to be able to open them. Use the feedback feature on Excel's help
menu to alert Microsoft of your feature request.

Thanks.

You can save as xls files in pocket excel as well and excel 2004 can read
them, I just sent a file via Bluetooth to my Mac
and it works fine
