Importing Appointment Labels

I have a .csv file that i'm going to be updating and importing daily into a
shared calendar, however I don't see a field to map the appointment label.
Does anyone know of another way for Outlook to read the csv file and assign
the different labels to the appointments?

How did you create the csv-file?

I'm using 2003.
I'm reffering to the labels that you can assign to the appointments that
will change the color that appears on the calendar.
The csv file is created from an Excel export from a software package that my
company makes. I run a macro on it to put in the appropriate headers for
mapping the import and then save it as a csv file.
I've never use iCal. What's that?

iCal is a standardized method to support Calendar items;
http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2445.txt

ics and vcs are the supported file formats for that but I believe that
previous version of Outlook (before 2007) don't support vcs

Note that category labels are local to the user but you can use the status
lables.

I'm not familiar with status labels. What are those? Forgive me if I'm asking
dumb questions but I typically only use Outlook for emails and appointments.
