Importing bmp image retaining transparency

How do I import a bmp image into Visio and retain a transparent background?
I created the image in Adobe Photoshop and set the background as
transparent. Then I saved it as a bmp. When I insert the image into Visio,
I have a shaded background in which I can not get it to be transparent.

Is this possible and if so, how?? Please advise.
