importing category information

Hi!
Windows XP+Office XP Pro.
I imported my contacts from a *.pst file into the current
contacts folder, but no information in the category field
is available. Why? Can it be repaired in some way?
I would be thankful for any info.

For a less messy way of moving categories around that doesn't involve
working with regedit, have a look at www.olcat.com.
