Importing Communicator 7.1 messages to Outlook Express

Scott

I'm having problems importing messages from Communicator
7.1 to Outlook Express. I may have contributed to the
problem when I imported messages from Netscape 6.0 to
Netscape 7.1 because I put files into a directory rather
than importing them (I didn't know that you had to import
them because 6.0 and 7.1 were different). In any case,
the directory from which I am importing the messages has
files named for each Communicator folder with 3 file
types. In other words, I have a folder in Communicator
called personal and the directory has 3 files for that
directory - one has no extension, one is peronal.snm and
one is personal.msf. When I imported the messages to
Outlook Express, I got messages that existed back when I
imported the messages from Communicator 6.0 to 7.1. I
tried deleting (moving the files out of the directory)
that had the .snm extension, thinking that these were the
6.0 files. When I tried to import the messages again,
Outlook said it was no messages were found. The only
options I have for importing Netscape messages are
Netscape Communicator and Netscape Mail (v2 or v3). Can
anybody help?

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97-2003 from the Office
family for Windows PCs. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting in one
of
these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...blic.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress
for OE 5.5x
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...ublic.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress
for OE 6.x
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...;newsgroupsmicrosoft.public.internet.mail.mac
for the Macintosh version of OE
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...ess.mac&SLCID=US&sd=GN&id=fh;en-us;newsgroups

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups). The links under the newsgroup
references are for use with MS's web newsreader (not exactly the best way to
post but it works for some people)

Also a good source of Outlook Express info can be found here:

You can't import to OE from Netscape 6 or 7 directly - you have to use
either Netscape 4.x or Eudora.
