Importing contacts

I have changed computers and am trying to copy my contact list from my old
computer (Windows '03) to the new one (Windows '07). I have copied the
contacts in the old computer to a thumb drive & uploaded onto the new
computers C drive as a pst file. But when I try to upload them into the
contacts folder in Outlook '07 I get a message saying the file is not a pst
file, even though it is labelled in the properties as just this. I cannot
even upload he file onto the Outlook '07 data management file as i get the
same message. How do I get Outlook '07 to recognize the pst file on the c
drive as just that.

Have you checked that the pst file on your new machine is NOT "Read Only"?

Yes, it is not that, I have already checked.

Can you be more specific as to what you actually did when you "copied the
contacts in the old computer to a thumb drive"?

This indicates you did not copy the file correctly or copied it while it was
in use. How did you generate it, what are all the actions you performed after
generating it, how did you copy it? Where did you put it on the new PC? Did
you overwrite any existing files in the process? Do you not want all the
other Outlook items, like Calendar, Tasks, Inbox, and all the other folders in
your new installation?
