Importing data from Entourage 2001 to Entourage X

I'm running into a snag and could use a little help. I have Entourage
2001 installed on my PowerMac 8500 and I have Entourage X installed on
my G4 desktop. They set side by side and are networked via Ethernet.
The 8500 has Mac OS 9.1 installed and the G4 is running on Panther.
I've been using them separately for about 1.5 years now but am getting
ready to wipe the 8500 and donate it. I want to get my old email info
off of the 8500 and have been attempting to do so using the import
function in Entourage X. I connect to the 8500 and have its
(networked) HDD icon visible on the desktop when I attempt to import
the info but I keep getting the error message that Entourage 2001
cannot be found. Does the import function only work from the same
loal drive but not from a networked drive? Anyone have any
suggestions on how I can get my old email, personal folders, and
contacts that aren't already in my version of Entourage X into it
without losing the data or having to reenter data by hand?

Thanks

DK

Stick your 2001 CD in your G4's drive before trying to import.
