importing .emf files generated from Windows

I use a graphing software called IGOR Pro (Windows) to generate graphs
in .emf format for importing to Powerpoint (Windows). This has been
working well for my Windows Powerpoint.

The problem is, when I do this in the Mac Powerpoint, the filter worked
to convert the images, but at the end it showed completely blank images
(entirely transparent with nothing shown). Does anyone else have
problems with attaching EMF images in Mac Powerpoint?

I am using the lastest version (2004 Office), with all of the available
updates installed.

Hi again,

Is the scenario that the presentation was created on a Windows computer
and then opened on a Macintosh? If that's the case, was PowerPoint
updated on the Windows side?

What happens if you are using PPT 2004 on the Mac and try to directly
bring in one of the emf files using Insert > Picture > From File?

Powerpoint was updated to the lastest as well (2003 SP1).

When I use PPT 2004 on Mac to Insert the EMF image, same problem
occurred - a blank/transport "image" showed up.

Hi again,

Can the original program save the images in a different format that
doesn't cause the problem?

Can you use GraphicConverter to convert them?

(I don't know of a solution within PowerPoint itself - so I'm trying to
figure out a relatively unpainful work-around).

No, this is the only format for what I need to do. So it doesn't seem
like there is anything else that I can do.

I guess one solution is to get a whole of a mac version of my graphic
software, another solution is to try another presentation package such
as keynotes.

Thanks anyway.
