Importing Excel files into access

I keep getting errors when trying to import an excel file
into Access. Is there an way to debug why the file won;t
import.

I saw the mesage about leading spaces and made sure this
was not the cause.

What types of errors?

If you are importing into an existing table the problem
could be the column headings - they must match exactly. I
have had problems with spaces after the last letter in the
field name, and with punctuation in the field name.

Another thing to look at is the data types in the columns,
make sure they are consistent and importing to the correct
field type in Access.
