Are you saying
#1 - that the second import using the exact same Excel file or is this a
different workbook?
#2 - that no records were imported at all? if yes,
- how are the Excel colum names different from the first time you
imported?
** If the field names were not different - issue is purely
related to contents of a specific data row, renaming the
fields
will serve no purpose
- if you remove the first row in the Excel worksheet - does the
issue still occur?
**if some records were imported - remove the Excel row
immediately following the the last row successfully
imported
#3 - does this occur if the worksheet is saved as a CSV file?
- if no, the issue is with your strictly with your Excel file
- if yes, issue will be related to your data and nothing to do
with Excel
#4 - how exactly was this workbook created? (manually, downloaded from
somewhere, via an external process etc)
#5 - was this workbook renamed from one version to another (i.e. file.xlsx
to file.xls etc)
You may want to review this as well:
http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-3206339.php
Without knowing anything about your workbook file and seeing the worksheet
data, it would be absolutely impossible to determine the exact cause of the
problem. Assuming that your configuration suddenly didn't go corrupt, the
issue will be related to something in your data file (Outlook's
import/export wizard is not noted for providing "informative" error
messages but 99.9999% of the time - it will be related to an issue with the
input data itself).
You may want to download any of the ContactGenie import programs (QuickPort
or DataPort) and try importing the Excel file and see what error comes up
http://www.contactgenie.com. (you can import the first 250 records without
need for registration). If, by any chance, your file causes a hard
failure in the CG program - send a sample of the file to cgsupport @
contactgenie.com - usually doesn't take more than about 30 seconds to
isolate the exact cause of any given data related issue. If you do submit
the file, be sure to also provide the answers to questions #4 & 5 above
since anything recent that has been submitted to us concerning Excel files
has all been related to either item #4 or #5 without exception.
