Importing Excel in Word XP

P

Preet

My user is trying to insert a excel file into Ms Word. And is prompted
to install an import converter, but the installation fails with the
error message below.

--------

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource which is
unavailable" The location is \\ukrdgfp057\smspkgg$\00124\xp
s.....(Can't see the rest of the path"

Can anybody help, why cant the file just install instead of having to
use the import converter and why is the import converter failing in the
first place? This is only happening in XP.

Just a wild guess.

It looks like your copy of Office was installed from network drive. (I'm not
sure if \\ukrdgfp057\... is a common CD or a harddrive, but it looks like it's
not available anymore.)

Maybe you should talk to the person who installed the sofware--your IT
department?????

If that's not possible, maybe uninstalling and reinstalling from a local CD
would help.

Again, just a guess.
