Importing Excel to word increase file size

I have an interesting problem. I have a document (67
pages) that someone copied from excel. It has half text
half excel. They put a free pain so that when the next
page printed it would keep the same header and nothing
fancy. The file measures 1.35 megs. When i attempt to
print, it jumps to 67.8 megs. Does anyone know what
happened?
