importing excell data

I have an excell workbook with miscellaneous data and information in rows 1-6
and the actual data begins in row 7, how can I import only rows 7-255 of a
spread sheet that has data in rows 1-575?

the file/get external data/import does not allow you to select a range of
data and will not allow me to import into an exhisting table, it only allows
importing of all spreadsheet data into a new table... this is worthless to
me and I'm sure not going to type in all this information by hand,
