Since it's never a good plan on making assumptions on what exactly has been
stated:
#1 - "....when I send emails, and click on contact"
You mean, you clicked on "To:, CC:, or BCC: and clicked on a contact from
the resulting address list displayed? There's no direct path from "send
email ... click on contact" (there are different ways to add the email
address so always good to define exact steps)
#2 - "...add the email address, the business fax shows up instead?"
Does the contact show up in the list twice (which it would if there was a
valid Fax# and a valid email address since both are considered legitimate)
and you happen to be selecting the first entry of the two?
#3 - If answer to above is <no> - is the email address present and
underlined when opening the contact record?
If the email address is either not present and/or not underlined, the
problem is with the import process followed - in short, something wasn't
done right. The most common reasons for email address import failure -
a) you used auto-map and email address not mapped or mapped incorrectly
(i.e. not mapped directly to Email Address field but rather to the
parent field which resulted in an import issue)
b) garbage imported into Email AddressType field
In short, if there are no issues with the source data file and the fields
are
mapped correctly - there is roughly a .000000000001% chance of this
being an issue with the Outlook import/export wizard.
