importing/exporting Excel spreadsheet with Google

I'm considering use of Google Groups to assist me as secretary of a large membership( 1800) in an organization (minutes, batch email services, etc) I would like to export a Google spreadsheet to Excel to make use of mailing labels, pivot data. Can this be done?

Sure. In Google Docs, choose File/Export, and choose the format you want
- e.g., .xls, .csv. or .txt.
