Importing FP, HGL, PLT or PCX files into Word 2007

In previous versions of Word , to use a .fp, .hgl, .plt or .pcx file, I
installed the HPGLIM32.FLT and PCXIMP32.FLT filters into C:\\Program
Files\\Common Files\\Microsoft Shared\\Grphflt - enabling Word to import
these using Insert > Picture > From File

I have tried this in Word 2007, it now sees the files but gives the error
'An error ocurred when importing this file'

Can anyone help me?

OK, for anyone else with this problem, here's a couple of ways I got round it.

1. Use a graphics conversion program such as ViewCompanion to convert to
..eps or anything else Word 2007 recognises - there are lots of programs out
there but be sure to convert to a vector not a raster based graphic or your
picture will look poorly resolutioned. Unfortunately, none of the programs
that work are free.

2. Use hp2xx.exe (Gnu program) to convert to .eps - you can even specify the
pen colours if you don't want b&w -
