Importing From Exchange Log Files

M

Mike Mingus

I import our Exchange log files into an Access table to
analyze e-mail usage, trends, etc.

The problem is I have to re-invent the import procedure
every day. Is there a way to "save" the import parameters
to be reused each day?????

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi Mike,

Assuming these are text files, just click the Advanced... button in the
text import wizard. This brings up a dialog where you can save an import
specification for re-use. Having done that, you can use the saved
specification with the TransferText method in VBA code or a macro.

Also, investigate the possiblity of linking instead of importing the
data.
