Importing from Word

I am having trouble importing a word document without losing a lot of
formatting.

In particular, one of the pages has a number of pictures, text in text boxes
and a watermark picture as a background.

When I import all the text boxes and text inside disappears, the watermark
picture appears on its own page, and all the other photos have lost their
position on the page, on are just in a row.

Can anybody offer me some advice please?

Thank you - Ewhen

Publisher will try its best to import a Word document. They are not exactly
compatible. You are better off importing the text, inserting and repositioning
the images manually. You can put the watermark on the Master Page (ctrl + m).

If you already have the document the way you want it in Word, why not use Word?

Thanks for your response.

I'm trying to convert because the print shop was having problems with my
Word document. They use Publisher and other DTP software.

I've produced, in Word, 4x A4 pages which I need to print on A3 double sided
to make a booklet. This seems to be problem for them.
