Hi,
I read your old post and would like to hire you to do an export/import from Goldmine to Outlook 2007.
Can you contact me at (e-mail address removed). Would love to get this resolved this week, thanks.

I can get your data out of GoldMine pretty easily - each table use
the same primary key to notate which record the information applie
to. Typically, when we move clients from one crm package to anothe
we perform separate export/imports from each table to it's appropriat
destination table in the new software
Are you able to import into the history or the calendar table in you
new database
I'm also very curious why you are moving on. I've evaluated almos
all the alternative software and have yet to find a product tha
compares to a properly configured GoldMine database. Even with th
discontinuance of the dbase version support, this application will b
around for many more years. There are hundreds of people who ca
support it technically...
send me a note on how to contact you and let's chat. There's severa
ways to acheive an export, my recommendation will depend on you
skillset and what other software you have available (i.e. access)

Importing Goldmine data to BCM 2007
I have tried exporting from Goldmine to XML and then importing to Excell 2007
(for later export to BCM) but Excell said there was a problem with the Schema
file. Are there any other work arounds you can think of for this data
transfer?

Can you export from Goldmine to .CSV, Excel or Access?

no...only DBF, ASCII and SDF. I tried exporting to DBF and importing as a ACT
dbf file but it said I must be running ACT which I don't have. Could I try
synchronizing with my PDF and then uploading to BCM? I'll check into that

Hi Steve
I don't own a Goldmine copy, but after some search, I learned ASCII format
is very similar to csv (Comma Seperated Values). Can you export a ASCII
Goldmine file and open it in Notepad
If you see something similar to this
First Name, Last Name,... et
John, Smith, ..
Jane, Smith, ..
then you can change the extension of ASCII file into csv and import it to
BCM
I hope this helps

Steve,I asked an unanswered question to this same effect.
Steve
I asked an unanswered question to this same effect. What they are
suggesting, it seems, will not bring along your histories, etc. Unless
you use XML export, but then I dont know how you would import xml
properly in BCM to let histories come in under each contact...
I would love an answer to this. Importing contacts themselves is easy, we
need to know how to import associated histories
What I did for conatcts was to just, from GM, do the outlook sync ( one
way ) from GM over to outlook. I did the activities too. Then, after that
was done, I just dragged the contacts from outlook to BCM and it ( very
slowly ) converted them.
But my histories are still in GM.

Didn't Goldmine just announce they're discontinuing the Standard version and
told people they had to upgrade to their new version? ACT! did the same
thing with 6.0 version and that's why the refugees show up in this group...
Curious Lon,
Thanks.

Re: Importing Goldmine data to BCM 2007
The BCM import utility is extensible. Microsoft released documentation
a few years ago. Someone has to write a DLL to convert Goldmine data
into XML, drop the DLL in a BCM folder, and then the utility will be
able to import Goldmine databases.
If enough BCM users want to import from Goldmine, I expect this is a
business opportunity for a Goldmine specialist.
