I have a question as to what other have done to account for project
actuals that have happened in the past; i.e. you rolled our MSPS but
there are un-baslined projects in process and being imported mid-life
cycle.
For example let's assume that the BAC of our project is 10,000 and
let's assume that the %Work Complete is 33%. But let's also assume
that we have recorded 4,500 hours of actuals (that are not recorded in
any manner in MS Project or Project Server); thus creating a (overage)
variance. In order to take advantage of the metrics abilities of MSPS
I need record the actuals but I am fearful of having to go through
hundreds of lines tasks for the past few weeks/months and recreating
actual time.
Are there methods for solving this scenario without the large data
entry project of recreating the teams actual time; while maintaining
the integrity of the baseline BA and the EV metrics moving forward?
Thanks,
