Thanks, Gordon. But I do have the Folders.dbx file on the second
computer...
To explain further.... I have a .dbx file containing 99 emails on a memory
stick and also in My Documents. I want to import these into OE. When I am
in
OE and use file>import>messages>Microsoft OE6>Import mail from an OE6
store
directory>brouse to the folder in My Documents and try to proceed, I get
the
warning pop-up: "No messages can be found in this folder or another
application is running that has the required files open. Please select
another folder or try closing applications that may have files runnning"
That's because you don't have a file called folders.dbx in the same folder
as the file you are trying to import. OE needs that file to tell it that the
folder you are importing from is a message store.
there is a workaround.
Open OE and create a new folder with EXACTLY the same name as the one you
are trying to import. Open it, but do NOT put anything in it. Then go to
Tools-Options-Maintenance and locate the location of your mail store. Close
OE. Navigate to your message store in Windows Explorer and paste the file
that contains the emails in, into the folder store. When asked "do you want
to overwrite..." say yes. Re-open OE and your emails should appear.
