In Word 2001 (OS 9) I built up an extensive AutoCorrect database. How
do I import this into Word 2004 (OS X)?
For Word 2001, find the file MS Office ACL [English] in the System Folder:
Preferences: Microsoft folder. Duplicate the file, then rename the copy
Microsoft Office ACL [English]. (the ACL file holds the AutoCorrect List)
On the OS X machine, find the file Microsoft Office ACL [English] in
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/ (~ stands for your username folder).
Delete the existing ACL file, and replace it with the renamed file from the
OS 9 machine. FIRST, make sure the names are identical, just in case I
glitched on the directions.
If you are installing Office 2004 on the same machine, I think the installer
does this automatically, by the way.
If that is not enough information, refer to these two web pages, which spell
out the process of saving the ACL and other such customizations in detail.
