Importing Large Autocad Drawings into Visio 02

On several occasions I have tried to import large drawings into Visio. When
i do it seems to only accept a section of the entire drawing, thus cutting
off the rest of the drawing. It definately seems to be linked to the file
size of the drawing. I know it has nothing to do with "paper" size within
Visio because that is easily changed. Is there a way around it so that I
might get my entire drawing into Visio. Cutting and pasting successfully
allows me to see the whole drawing but it does not allow me to modifiy the
drawing.

Visio 2002 shows you the last saved view of the file. Try doing a zoom
extents in AutoCAD before saving and opening in Visio.

I have tried that, no dice. It still only allows for the insertion of the
middle section of a drawing. I did however learn that if I Copy / Paste and
then Ungroup, I can then modify my drawing by changing the line thickness to
something readable.

In fact it is not ungroup but "Convert" from the rigth click menu on the
drawing after it has been import (be aware that you must have 2003
professionnal version or Technical former version).
Sometimes the thiner weight of autocad will correspond to a too thick weight
in visio. To correct it, after convert process, select all the drawing and
choose a weight of 0pt "Format=>line=>Weight=>custom" and type "0pt".
If you are interested in a enhanced ACAD converter that can handle all dwg
format (including acad 2006) contact me on my email.
