importing mail

I'm new to outlook... as in a few hours of experience. I am familiar
with outlook express though. I'm trying to import all my mail in the
different
folders form outlook express to outlook. I have outlook express on a WIN98
machine, and Outlook is on a WINXP machine. I've not been very successful. I
tried dragging the mail in my OE inbox into the inbox of outlook, but though
the mail was there, all were attachments, the original letter wasn't shown.
To cut a
long story short, i've not been successful. Can someone either tell me, or
direct me to a site that will give me step by step instructions as to how to
go about doing the import? I'd like to import mail and message rules if
possible... thanks for any help

i should add, i tried the "export messages", and that woked somewhat, except
that the messages were automatically exported to Outlook on the Win98
machine. I want to be able to put the exported file on a cd and then import
them on the WinXP machine. the computers are not networked.
