importing office VX database into entourage

I use a mac PPC 10.4.11. Just bought office2008 but I am scared to install. I read lots of confusing comments and no instructions are clearly given in the DVD on if possible, how and when to import my accounts and database from entourage vX into entourage 2008 .
Should I uninstall ofice vx first ? what will happen to my accounts and mails ?
Can someone give me te "real answer"

read lots of confusing comments and no instructions are clearly given in the
DVD on if possible, how and when to import my accounts and database from
entourage vX into entourage 2008 .

See Installing Office for Mac 2008

When you open Entourage the first time, it will ask if you want to import or
if you want to just start using it. I might suggest that you just create a
new Identity (called Main by default) and try using it, just to see how you
like it. Later under Entourage in the Menu bar select New Identity and use
the new Identity to import your data. This will give you two Identities as
comparison. Many times imported data is corrupted and things just don't go
as expected. This way you can see if it's your data or Entourage that's the
problem.

Once you are satisfied with Office 2008, then use "Remove Office" to remove
Office X. "Remove Office" gets all files including invisible ones.

I wouldn't remove Office X until you are satisfied with Office 2008.

Installing does not remove your old mail. Your mail is stored in your User's
Document folder. I do recommend that your archive (zip/stuff) your Microsoft
User Data folder as additional backup. In _rare_ circumstances the Microsoft
User Data folder has been deleted.)

Inside your Microsoft User Data folder you can have Identities for Entourage
X, Entourage 2004 and Entourage 2008. Each is separate from one another.

Some Entourage X users have had difficulty importing their data. If you do,
see this page for manually importing your data:

Wonderful answer . many thanks for taking the time . Now I know exactly what I wanted to know , to try 2008 first , then remove X if I like what I see.
