Importing Outlook Contacts - One Machine to Another

V

vgopalk

I am trying to Import all CONTACT information from one PC
to another. I am utilizing the TAB-Delimited (Windows)
Option.

The file exports OK.
The file Imports OK.

The Problem (as I see it) occurs, when the I look in the
contacts folder of the Destination Machine. All Contacts
are FILED AS...LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME !!!

The Source Computer has all Names listed as FIRSTNAME
LASTNAME (with a Space in between).

The Destination Computer, however has it in reverse.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.
(I would like the destination Machine to have the
CONTACTS in the FIRSTNAME LASTNAME Order)

Thank You.

Why are you importing and exporting through a second file format?
Just copy the PST file and open it in the other installation. There is never
any need to import/export unless you have an express need to use a different
file format.

There is an option in outlook to change the contact order - if you go
to the control panel and click the mail icon and go to show profiles,
then click on email accounts - and then view or change existing
directories or address books. Then hit change on your address book,
at the bottom of the next window there should be the 2 options on how
to file contacts, either by first, last or last, first.

Not relevant here. That affects the sort order of the Outlook Address Book,
not the File As field for the Contacts.
