Importing Outlook Messages/Addresses

Shellie

I recently purchased a new computer and intend to reformat
the hard drive of the old computer. Before doing that, I
installed the old hard drive as a slave on to the new
computer to copy over my working files. I am trying to get
at my old messages and address book from the copy of
Outlook 2000 on the old drive to the Outlook 2000 on the
new computer, but I can't find how to do this. Can anyone
help?

I'd like to jump in with a related question. My hard drive also crashed, and I just put in a new one and I'm trying to find the correct files to move into Outlook. I copied onto a CD my entire "Profile" subdirectory from my old hard drive, which has many, many files in it. Can I simply move these files back onto my new hard drive, and will Outlook find and recognize them? There are several subdirectories in my profile subdirectory, including "Application Data" which I think is where the outlook information is located, also "Cookies" and "History" which I don't need.

I guess I'm wondering if I can simply move this entire Profile subdirectory onto my new hard drive and have Outlook recognize everything as it did before.

Thanks for any info.

you have to go to File Tab, then Import and Export, then Export to a file, select Personal Folder File (.pst), select Inbox, type the name of your new file and location where do you want to save it or browse, then Finish
In your new Outlook, use the same procedure, only this time you have to import the file which you have saved
You can do the same with Notes, Contacts...et
Good Look
