hi--i am trying to import a pdf file into frontpage. the file was originally
written in .pub and i tried converting that to a webpage (there was no choice
for html) and when i imported it to frontpage everything was distorted. i
converted it to pdf but got a message that i needed a converter to import the
file. where do i get the converter or should i do this another way. the
file i want to import is a four page application and needs to appear together
for consistency.

Converter?
Can you open and view the outputted PDF normally on your machine (not within
FP or your web)?

If you can...Open FP, Open Web/Site then File | Import your pdf, once it's
in your web just create a link to it. You do know it is not "displayable"
on a page right? - It's gonna open within Acrobat Reader.

IF you want to display the pdf on a web page you could convert the pdf to a
gif and place it on a web page as you would an image...increases your page
load time, and its not real real pretty but it works.

Thanks for your input and I tried it but when I import the pdf file it does
not maintain the integrity of the form. It becomes like continuous text. I
need to be able to get it into frontpage as a form. How do I import the form
without attaching it to a page in front page. I am pretty new to this so am
still learning the very basic ropes. I am afraid that I am going to have to
recreate the form in frontpage and that is a lot of work.

If your intent is to have a form visible on a page and have the form be
usable by viewers on the net, then YES you will have to create the form in
FP on a page.

If your intent is to have a form that the user can download, save and fill
out and then email or print, then you'd use a pdf form.

Not sure why your importing is not maintaining the integrity of the pdf
file...it should. Does it open normally on your computer (not in fp web)??

Hi

I have been away for awhile but I am about to try to work on this problem
again. I need for people to be able to download the pdf file so that they
can print it on their own computer. When I try to import the pdf file
(converted from publisher) all the boxes are gone and the text is continuous
and does not work. When you look at the pdf file in adobe, it looks fine. I
am at a loss. Do I need to purchase some software that converts pdf to html
or is that already in front page?
