Importing Personal Address Book Into Contact List

C

Colt Landreth

Dear Group:

When I try to do this, I get a message that tells me that
the tranlators are not installed. I am instructed to go to
Add/Remove Programs and click on Outlook 98. I cannot find
anything to download past this.

Perhaps in a related issue, I do not understnd the
relationship between the Personal Address Book and my
Contact List. When I am sending an e-mail, I can acces my
Personal Address Book but not my Contact List which is
where the majority of my contacts are. From the Folders
List, I can access my Contact List, but not my Personal
Address Book.

Sincerely,
Colt Landreth

1 - upgrade to Outlook 2000 (at least); you'll be happier. Barring
that, run the install program for Outlook again (did you get this
version as a standalone or is it part of your MS Office? - if the
latter, re-run the Office install program, select Add/Remove
Components) and make sure EVERYTHING under Outlook is selected

2 - go to Tools, Services and make sure that Outlook Address Book is
installed. Then go to your Folder List, right-click Contacts and open
Properties. You'll see a tab called Outlook Address Book - on that
tab, check the box for "Show this folder as an email address book"

2a - you may also need to go to Tools, Services, Addressing tab and
make sure your Contacts folder is listed in the bottom list.
