Importing personal templates & styles from WORD 2003 into WORD 200

Dear Colleagues,

I use a number of personal templates within WORD 2003 and wish to continue
with these in WORD 2007. These include a comprehensive normal.dot.

How do I go about this please: in particualar

- where can I arrange to produce a new document with the given template?

- where is the equivalent of "templates and add-ins" in the tool file, with
which I used to be able to impose a set of my styles on documents received
from other people?

- is there a special place to store template files or can I choose my own?

- is there anywhere I can read something about this subject - the help and
forums seem to offer very little that is useful.

Click the Office button, and then click New.

- where is the equivalent of "templates and add-ins" in the tool file, with
which I used to be able to impose a set of my styles on documents received
from other people?

On the Developer tab, click Document Template.

Note: To display the Developer tab, check that option in Office button |
Word Options, Popular category.

- is there a special place to store template files or can I choose my own?

You should store them in the folder specified for user templates in the File
Locations dialog box (to display it, click File Locations in Office button,
Word Options, Advanced category).

Dear Stefan,

Many thanks for fully answering my queries. I have checked out the locations
and am looking forward to trying them out, when I have got over the muddle of
putting in a swecond Vista PC with the "easy" transfer having bombed out on
me twice.
