importing picture becomes frame - cannot move around the page easi

Hello:

Unlike Word 98, whenever I insert a picture it makes it a frame that I
cannot move easily around the page. My "work around" is to create a text box
around it, remove the border and remove the fill color (white). I'm sure that
I can insert a picture the old way. Any help will be really appreciated.

If you are using Word 2000 or above, the picture is inserted In Line With
Text, which means that it is in the text layer and behaves like a large font
character. In order to move it freely, you need to change the wrapping to
any other style, which will put it in the drawing layer. Click on the
picture, which will display the Picture toolbar. Then click on the Text
Wrapping button (dog icon) and choose Square or Tight for starters.

If you have Word 2002 or 2003, you can change the default wrapping for
inserted/pasted graphics on the Edit tab of Tools | Options.
