importing/placing hi-res graphics

what is the best way to import or place a hi-res graphic into word
that has been created by either illustrator or freehand? an eps? jpg?
tif? also is there something to saving as options in terms of preview?

any help no matter how small is appreciated.

The best way to import graphics in Word X is to go to the Insert menu,
select Picture, then From File. Click on the Enable drop down menu so see
all the graphic types that Word X supports.
