Importing Powerpoint Presentations

O

ON rookie

I'm having a difficult time with powerpoint presentations that I send to ON
2003 via my "Send to Microsoft Office OneNote 2003" application that I got
from the Education pack online. I send it via the print function and it gets
imported, but all of the slides in ON are warped into being skinnier than
they should so they are disproportioned. Furthermore, once they're imported,
I can't use the "Find" function inside of ON 2003 to search for any keywords
in the imported powerpoint texts. Please help!!! What can I do??? Thanks.

If you want more control over imported slides, you should use Insert |
Document as Picture... to print the PPT file into OneNote. The zoom and
sizing options for this function can be found under Tools | Options |
Editing and the last two options under the "Editing" group.

When documents are inserted into ON2003 no matter which process you use,
the text will not be searchable.

If you need to search the text of imported PPT slides, I'd recommend
giving the Beta of ON2007 a try.

This has been reported before. There are two other methods for getting your
presentation content into OneNote. The first is to use Insert--> Document as
Picture. The second (and much better in my opinion) is to use Jeff Borlik's
PPT2One. Information on it can be found in this entry from his blog:
http://www.borlik.net/blog/archives/000097.html

(unfortunately, I can't seem to get to Jeff's site at the moment... Anyone
else having the same problem?)

FYI: I heard from Jeff - The site went down while he was on vacation. It
should be back up tomorrow.

Thanks, Kathy.
Will check it tommorow.

Sunday AM out here in Time Zone -10 and still no Borlik sighting. Mr. Borlik,
Mr. Borlick... Earth to Borlik... Come in...

I could use improved PPT import, too! Of course, I hope it makes it to ON2007.
