Importing Printable PDF

I have just installed OneNote2007 onto my Dell, but the option to "Import
Printable File" is not available. I also know that "Send to OneNote" is an
option that is usually shown in the print menu if i want to make noted upon a
PDF file.

Does anyone know a simple fix for this?
i'm not sure if i need to add it as a printer or something else.
is it possible that my Norton Antivirus could be blocking this from happening?

thank you

I find the most flexibility when I open windows explorer and drag/drop a file
onto a OneNote page. You'll get 3 choices on how the file is inserted
(hyperlink, file as an icon, or file as a printout).

The action of getting files or printed material into OneNote is actually
always initiated from outside OneNote. Unlike Word, it doesn't have a menu
selection for "choose a file to import". Everything is pushed to it from
the outside.

Am I right in understanding that you don't have the "Send to OneNote"
printer?

If so: you do you run with a Vista 64bit version?
The printer does not exist when the OS is Vista64. [1]

In case it's the Vista64 known problem, you may try it with the
workarounds posted by Daniel Escapa and Nils Kaiser. [2]

I don't think so.
No problems with Norton AV on my side.

In the replies on Nils Kaiser's blog there are two more possibilities
mentioned:
a) "PowerPoint To OneNote" utility

b) PDFCreator (free and open source) creating TIFs as output

I'm having a problem where insert as a printout is not an option anywhere. I
used to use it all the time until yesterday, and i'm not sure what happened.
In OneNote it is grayed out, it doesn't show up as a printer in any other
programs, and when I drag and drop "printout" is not an option. What can I
do?

It seems that you too have been bitten by the nasty ON-printer bug.
The printer may get lost at random, and so far no one is able to give
valid reasons for what is really going in.

You have to bring the printer back.
This may require several steps.
First step could be to the follow the following recipe:
"KB952216: The "Send To OneNote 2007" printer is missing .…"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952216/en-us

Should this not work, pls be so kind as to open a new thread with a
significant subject.
