Importing .pst file into Windows XP

I am unable to import my contacts list back into Outlook
after I upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows XP. It's on
cd as a .pst file.

Did you move it to a hard drive and remove its read only attribute?

Yes I did, but it won't copy from the hard drive either.
