Importing SQL data into Visio 2003

Can anyone point me to a good place to start learning how to make calls to a
MySQL database and have the information posted in Visio diagrams?

I'm trying to create standard network diagrams. All of our hardware
information, IP address information, etc is currently located in a MySQL
database. I would like to use this information and populate a standard Visio
drawing template I have for each location.

I know this can be done, but I cannot find anything on this. Any help would
be greatly appreciated.

It's an interesting project. Questions such as "What is a standard network
diagram?", "Which standard visio drawing template are you considering?",
"What version of Visio are you using?", "What are your programming skills
(languages, platforms, etc.)?", "How's your sql query skills?", "Do you have
a data schema defined?", "Have you created SPC's to provide the data to the
drawing that you require?", , come to mind.

Have you checked these out?

There are several examples of integrating data to visio in the early (visio
2000) office forums on MSDN. There are also several good books referenced by
John Marshal "visio.mvps.org" and Chris Roth (www.visguy.com)
