importing v-cards

When exporting v-cards from outlook 2000 to a shared file and then importing them back into outlook 2000, I frequently get the shutdown error message (microsoft is experiencing problems . . . ). This occurs on the computer I am importing them into. Is it something with outlook or the operating system? I have had problems with Windows XP conflicting with things
