Importing XML files - Transfer macro equivalent?

Is there a way to automate the import of an XML file using a macro?

I have various macros that use the TransferSpreadsheet functionality but I
would like to do the same thing for an XML file.

I already have the tables created from the initial XML import, I then want
to be able to purge the tables (which I already have a macro that does this)
and then automate the import of the XML file and have it append data to the
existing tables as the Import XML dialog allows you to specify.
