Importing XML into Mac Excel 2004

I have an XML export from 4D. It appears to be a perfectly formed XML
document, but Excel says it is not XML.

Are there special requirements for Excel XML import?

Hi Bill,

Excel 2004 can open files saved in Excel's XML spreadsheet format, but
it can not open all XML files. MacBU wasn't sure whether or not having
the general ability to open XML files is something that Mac users would
like to have.

You've sort of done it by posting here, but you should do so explicitly
by choosing the Help/Send Feedback on Excel menu item in XL.
