Importing

Hi,

I'm using Microsoft Access 2000. I've created a database by importing (not
linking) two excel spreadsheets.

FILE -> GET EXTERNAL DATA -> IMPORT.

The first two spreadsheets came in just fine. When I tried to bring in the
3rd, I get the message:

the Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the object "XXXX$" Make sure
to obect exists and that you
spelled it correctly.

The XXXX is the name of one of the first two spreadsheets I imported
(without the "xls" suffix). Of course, that is NOT the name of the xls
spreadsheet file I'm currently trying to import.

Any ideas of how I can fix this? If not, how else can I bring in an xls file
of about 200 entries by about 6 colums?

Than!
Gary

Gary,

1. Try to rename the file you are trying to import. Once
you imported the file rename it back to the original name.

2. Link to the spreadsheet and run a make table query
against the spreadsheet.
