Importomg/Exporting Work Details.

In Microsoft Project 2007SP1, I would like to import actual work details so
that they can be compared to baselines.

I have the data in a database and have attempted to store the various fields
using the ODBC data source import feature. I can load tasks and resources,
but there does not appear to be a way to load this data because the tables do
not appear to be exposed.

If the fields for work detail were exposed, I could do an import.

To be a little more precise, I want to load in timecard data and compare it
to the baseline assignment data as shown in the Task Usage view (View-> Task
Usage).

This is currently being done via a manual cut/paste operation whereby the
task name and work data are pasted in the Task Usage view. MS Project then
computes total work and duration based on this information. We would like to
automate this process using the data we have stored in our database.

I could probably accomplish this with an SQL->XML generator, but would like
to avoid this if possible.

Does anyone know of a way to do this without manual cut/paste from a report?

Thanks!
