Impossible Matrix

Steve

Hi, I think I have been asked to do the impossible.

I need to write a macro that will give me a matrix of 20
names over 6 days.

There will be 2 groups of 10. Each person has to be with
a different person each day (in there own group) and they
have to be against a different group each day with the
other group also having to be with a different person
each day.

Not sure if anyone can help or even if Excl is the best
application for it but any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Steve

20 names each day? I'll assume so.

....

Excel may not be the ideal tool for this, but I can't think of anything
better. It's not impossible, but it's not easy. I got as far as coming up
with 9 sets of 5 pairs of letters (A-J and K-T) representing different
people from each group. You'd draw 6 of the sets from the first group, then
match them up with pairs from sets in the other group to get foursomes. I
don't know of any way to do this other than educated trial & error.

My work so far may be found in the linked workbook.
