impossible to group images in word 2007

I have a document with several images... the problem is that I can't
group a set of images to align them. On some pictures I get a fancy
"images toolbar" but when I ctrl click on the pictures the group icon is
greyed out.
When I click on some other pictures I get a "drawing toolbar", that
allow me to group multiple pictures and allign them.
I would like to have that "drawing toolbar" when I click on ALL those
pictures but I can't figure out how. Is it possible?

From your description it sounds as though one or more of the objects is set
to In Line with Text, which will prevent it from being included in a Grouped
Object or as part of an Object Align action. Those commands will be dimmed
unless all selected objects have text wrapping applied. Also, some Alignment
commands require at least 3 objects to be selected before they are enabled.
